Sweden’s Tomas Alfredson has come on board to direct Nicole Kidman in “The Danish Girl,” a drama based on David Ebershoff’s true-story novel. Charlize Theron was previously attached to star as well, but she dropped out.
The film focuses on Einar (Kidman) and Greta Wegener, two Danish artists whose marriage drastically changed in the 1930s when Einar became the first to undergo a sex-change operation to become a woman.
