Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow is set to join Nicole Kidman in “The Danish Girl,” Tomas Alfredson’s drama from a script by Lucinda Coxon, who adapted David Ebershoff’s novel.
Based on a true story, the film focuses on Einar and Greta Wegener, two Danish artists whose marriage drastically changed when Einar became the first postoperative transsexual.
Kidman is Einar, and Paltrow plays Greta, according to Variety. Charlize Theron (”The Burning Plain”) was once attached to that role, but she dropped out.
Paltrow will soon return to play Pepper Potts in “Iron Man 2.” She was also seen in “Two Lovers.” Kidman will soon dance in “Nine.” BTW, Alfredson directed “Let the Right One In.”
